Today is the official start of the new session in Congress, and later today I’ll be joined by little Lillian as I am sworn in to represent California’s 9th district.

Based on what has happened so far though, Lillian is much better behaved than some of my Republican colleagues…

As you may have, seen Kevin McCarthy is in real trouble and currently doesn't have the 218 votes he needs to become Speaker. This is happening even after he’s given into the crazy demands of the extreme right!

If Republican leaders are already bending to the extreme right, we shouldn’t be surprised when their agenda is just as extreme.

I genuinely am unsure how the votes will fall today, but I do know that as Democrats we are united in doing everything we can to fight back.
