Happy New Year!! I wanted to reach out to thank you for your support for J Street in 2022 . And a special thank you to everyone that donated during our End-of-Year Fundraising Match!
Your support means we can hit the ground running in 2023 to promote our pro-Israel, pro-peace, pro-democracy mission and more effectively fight for our values of peace, justice and equality both at home and abroad.
As I’m sure you know, Prime Minister Netanyahu’s new far-right government poses a real, immediate threat to Israel’s democracy and Palestinian rights -- and is poised to do immense damage to the US-Israel relationship. But despair is not a policy position. We at J Street are committed to the difficult but necessary work of standing up to those that want to drag Israel into a far-right nightmare of permanent conflict and suffering.
This means pushing our leaders here in the US to stand up to occupation, evictions and home demolitions in the West Bank and to stand up for democracy advocates in Israeli society. It means making clear that the extremists in Netanyahu’s government do not represent the values and goals that are so important to our community and to the US-Israel relationship.
