*Apply now for EQB environmental review planner position*

We are hiring to fill the environmental review planner position. This position carries out the Minnesota Environmental Quality Board's authorities and oversight of the state's Environmental Review Program and manages and assesses the data generated by the program. Application deadline is January 11.

*New environmental assessment worksheet (EAW) form*

The EQB chair formally approved updates to the EAW form?that incorporates climate information.?This means all responsible governmental units are required to use the new form for project reviews that began after December 14, 2022. Look for the new EAW form and applicable resources and guidance on the Climate assessments and environmental review [ [link removed] ]?and?Guidance for practitioners and proposers [ [link removed] ]?webpages.

*Environmental Review Program: Ombuds pilot*

The Environmental Quality Board is excited to announce the start of an ombuds pilot?to?provide guidance and support for navigating the incorporation of climate assessments into environmental documents. Denise Wilson will serve as the Environmental Quality Board ombuds for the duration of this pilot, which will last six months (January to June 2023). *Environmental Review Program Continuous Improvement*

Starting in January 2023, EQB staff will begin developing a new process for identifying and prioritizing Environmental Review Program improvement initiatives. *Pelican Bay Addition Residential Development*

*Location:* Lake Sarah Township, Murray County

*Project description:* Rupp Construction is proposing a residential development on a 34-acre project site. The Pelican Bay Addition project will develop 29 residential lakeshore lots along the shoreline of Lake Shetek in Murray County, Minnesota. The first phase of construction will include limited grading and site preparation for selling individual lots and construction of the residential road on the project site. Construction will also include development of attendant features for the development including the improvement of an existing private field road to a new public access road and installation of utilities to serve the development, including sanitary sewer connection and a new community well. The project is located within the 1,000 ft Shoreland Overlay District of Lake Shetek.
