Hi John,
It's time to face the truth about the extinction emergency.
Scientists estimate that more than 1 million animal and plant species face extinction.
With each loss the wild around us slips away. The planet becomes lonelier by the hour.
It's going to take all we've got, day in, day out, to fight back against this crisis. This is why I'm making a special ask today that you join Wild Uprising, the group of our most committed supporters who make regular, monthly gifts.

Sustaining gifts give us the reliable, enduring support we need to keep wildlife from going extinct, to fight the long, costly legal battles we're currently fighting and those we will launch this year.
Under 24 hours ago we released a groundbreaking plan to solve the extinction crisis. Now more than 1,000 volunteer activists are signed up to join our kick-off call tomorrow night for our new Saving Life on Earth campaign.
If we're going to tackle the global extinction crisis, we have to go big.
Our plan calls for 500 new national parks, wildlife refuges and national marine sanctuaries — the kinds of places that are crucial habitat for plants and animals. We're also seeking restoration of the full power of the Endangered Species Act. And we need dramatic cuts in pollution and plastics and increased efforts to stem wildlife exploitation.
Human beings have never witnessed the kind of extinction wave that's sweeping the planet, threatening mammals, reptiles, amphibians, birds, insects, plants and fish.
The same forces that drive wildlife extinctions are the same that destroy wild places, pollute our air and water, and push our climate deeper into crisis. This is an emergency — and we need to act now.
We can't stop extinction without you.
Saving life on Earth is our life's work.
Please start your monthly gift today. Be part of the movement to save the creatures that share this planet with us.
