Dear John,

Wishing you a happy and prosperous New Year! This winter, we have reflected on the actions women across the globe are taking to remove barriers to equality and prosperity.

Health Poverty Action works with these women as they secure healthcare services, develop their livelihoods, challenge the dominance of patriarchal structures and demand social justice.

You can still donate to the Women’s Empowerment Appeal! [[link removed]]

Around the world, women face different struggles. Whether this be legal barriers to gender equality, social norms that prevent them from accessing educational opportunities or owning property, attacks on their sexual and reproductive autonomy, or gender-based violence.

Health Poverty Action works with people living in the most severe conditions of inequality. Where access to essentials for good health are denied. We partner with communities to provide these essentials and support their advocacy against inequality.

In addition to this inequality, women face specific issues that must be addressed. This appeal has highlighted the role women are playing in developing health systems and social structures to better meet the needs of women and girls.

Donate today and support communities to defend women's rights! [[link removed]]

In Rwanda women who have experienced gender-based violence can gain skills for employment, share their experiences, learn about their rights, and heal together.

Women's groups enable women to join forces to challenge injustices within their community, and hold authorities to account. Such as groups dedicated to supporting and implementing savings structures, so women have independent access to money.

We will continue to push for women’s empowerment long after this appeal, your support today will contribute to this essential work.

Warm wishes,

Siaffa Bunduka
