Season’s Greetings from our family to yours — and sending best wishes for a happy and healthy 2023.
Jack and Katie began life as high school students at Blanchet — Bob’s alma mater. The theme for their first dance was “70’s night.” The twins were in disbelief when Bob informed them that it was still the 70’s when he first entered Blanchet as a student.
Jack and Bob were at Lumen Field for the Sounders' historic victory over Pumas — CONCACAF Champions! Jack also continued his climbing pursuits. A highlight was reaching the remote summit of Saska Peak with a couple of Bob’s college buddies after a series of misadventures which should probably not be detailed here. Let’s just say there was a moment or two when Bob said to Jack, “We don’t need to tell mom about this, ok?” Jack has now climbed nine of the 100 highest peaks in the state.
Katie’s focus on fastpitch softball continues. Her team will travel to Arizona in February, where they will face some serious competition. A 2022 highlight was Katie hitting her first grand slam. She keeps a very (very!) serious poker face on the field, but if you zoom in the video, one can detect an ever-so-slight smile as she crosses home plate.
Our big adventure was a trip to Washington DC with several other families. A visit to Gettysburg was especially memorable and moving. If you haven’t been there, put it on your bucket list.
Happy New Year from our family to you!
Bob, Colleen, Jack, Katie...and Peter!
