In addition to our policy wins, we ramped up our work in policy and research. The California YIMBY Education Fund supported the publication of a landmark report on homelessness, demonstrating that restricting the supply of new housing has fueled California's homelessness crisis, and that adding more housing is crucial to solving this problem.

Our report, which received wide coverage in the media and was shared with key policymakers, is an example of the kind of policy development and research work we're looking to do in 2023. We want to not only win the narrative – we're writing the narrative too.

In 2023 we'll be leading the way on climate safe housing by championing production where it is most needed, building on our legislative success, and supporting new pathways to homeownership. We’re going to educate the public and the policymakers about the importance of these goals and fight back against those who oppose them.
