| | John, During a holiday season that’s been more challenging than many of us hoped, we all want to do anything we can to help those who are suffering. After the cruel Dobbs decision by the Supreme Court, we're naturally thinking of pregnant women forced to become mothers, even though it sends their families into poverty. Or hiding from those reading their social media posts and spying on their behavior in anti-abortion police-states, all to turn them into Republican Big Brother running their local or state government in the hope of collecting some kind of sick bounty. This is where the National Network of Abortion Funds (NNAF) steps in. They ensure that women, no matter their geography, gerrymandered state legislature, economic status or any other factors have access to their most basic right--control of their bodies. An unplanned pregnancy is often a significant factor in dire, intractable family poverty, and economic insecurity so severe that it causes children lifelong trauma. Giving women back control over their reproductive futures can help entire families, and in the end it helps all of us live in stronger, more stable communities. Can you give $5, $10, $25 or more to the NNAF to ensure these women don't become cautionary statistics, but thrive? |

| | The Network helps with financial costs of the procedure, childcare, travel, translation (if necessary) and a place to stay. They are truly doing the work of the angels, continuing a long tradition that includes the underground railroad, to help those whom our government has abandoned or is actively trying to harm. Let's just be decent human beings--let that guide us as we care for others in the very same manner we'd hope they'd care for us, if we found ourselves in a similarly desperate, heartbreaking situation.
