Dear Transit Riders, As we begin 2020, we are also kicking off the search to find our new Executive Director. We have big plans for continuing and building on our work in the new year, and we need your help in finding the person who will help us achieve them! San Francisco Transit Riders is looking for a bold new leader with vision and stamina who can build on the foundation that our first Executive Director, Rachel Hyden, created for the organization. Under her leadership over the last two years, we added staff to create an incredible team, we tripled our budget, and we tripled our membership. We have become a force in San Francisco and regionally, fighting for the rider at every turn. In extending the Muni transfer from 90 minutes to two hours, we help riders get to their final destination without having to pay twice. We kept several improvement projects on track, making sure the rider’s voice was heard. And through our current 30x30 campaign, we are working to get riders across the city more quickly, reliably, and safely. There’s so much more to do, and we need someone with the experience to keep this meteoric rise going. We are seeking a dynamic, strategic leader to continue to build our organization via fundraising, broadening our membership, and advocating for you, the riders. We are seeking someone who is passionate about making it possible for us to fight for better transit on behalf of our members and for all transit riders; who is ready to take this rising startup nonprofit to a position of greater influence for a more sustainable, livable San Francisco.
