John, in the last week you’ve heard a lot from our team. You know why reaching our fundraising goals every time is so important to our work.
I want to talk about what we’re working towards in 2023, and the shared commitment I want to make with you. But before I do, here is where we stand on our December fundraising:
If you are able, I’d deeply appreciate anything you can give to help us meet our $40,000 end-of-year goal. Every dollar counts.
I’ve been spending the weeks since Election Day reflecting on not only what it takes to build a movement, but what it takes to sustain one. It’s so easy to have a flash in a pan, a protest, or a rally — it is a whole other thing to stay strategic and keep a movement moving forward for the long haul.
So today, I want to make a shared commitment with you, John:
- I will commit to continuing to serve you, working families, and the future of our democracy by fighting like hell, raising my voice loud, and always centering the needs of my constituents.
- I will commit to integrity and transparency, remaining accountable to the movement which got me where I am today. Never taking a cent from corporate PACs which do not work in our best interests.
- I will commit to the future. While the work is difficult, sometimes slow, and it seems like we’re surrounded by opposition on all sides, it is always worth it.
In return, I’m asking for that same shared commitment to the future by supporting and uplifting your own community. A commitment to bring your own unique and powerful gifts to this movement. A commitment to never give up on the power of the people and our movement for a future we all deserve.
Because I will never, ever, give up on you.
Thank you for a historic 2022. Here's to 2023!
Summer
P.S. If you can donate before our midnight deadline, thank you. If you are unable, know that your contribution to this movement does not have to be financial. Your gifts are unique, one of a kind, and deeply needed.
