John,
Steve King, the notoriously racist member of Congress representing Iowa’s 4th District, actually spent time on the House floor last week complaining about being called a white nationalist.
This is the same guy who told the New York Times last year, “White nationalist, white supremacist, Western civilization — how did that language become offensive?”
Of course that comment isn’t anything new. King has made a litany of racist comments throughout his time in office, traveled to Austria for an interview with a far-right propagandist during which he touted his beliefs that those of white European descent are superior over others, and defended white nationalists time and time again.
In fact, the white nationalist website The Daily Stormer even called him “one of their own.” Only now in 2020 when King is facing his toughest challenge to re-election in his career does he suddenly have a problem with it.
It goes without saying, but King shouldn’t have been elected to Congress in the first place fifteen years ago. This November, we can defeat King, kicking him out of the House and replacing him with DFA-endorsed progressive Democrat J.D. Scholten.

King spent his time on the House floor last week not advocating for legislation that will help his constituents, but instead attacking journalists for calling him what he’s outright claimed to be: a white nationalist.
He went on and on with his right-wing conspiracy theories that Democrats conspired with Jewish billionaire philanthropist George Soros (a common anti-semetic talking point of the right) to accuse all conservatives of racism, white nationalism, and Naziism.
You know what J.D. would do if he was in the House right now? Fight for Medicare for All, the Green New Deal, stand up for working families and farmers, and be a true representative of ALL the people of Iowa.
J.D. lost to King by just 2,500 votes (that’s only 3%) in 2018, in a district that Donald Trump won by 27% in 2016. We can get J.D. over the finish line in 2020, but only with your help.
Pitch in whatever you can to elect J.D. this November and show King we won’t soon forget or ignore the fact that he’s a white nationalist >>
Thanks,
-Charles
