Let me explain why this is the most important day of the year when it comes to fundraising for nonprofits like Public Citizen:
- Public Citizen spreads our fundraising out over the course of a year more than many organizations.
- Even so, more than a quarter of our online donations for the entire year come in during just the month of December.
- And more than a quarter of that comes in on just this one day, December 31.
So if we come up short today, Public Citizen will not be at maximum strength as we work to fight corporate greed and government inaction throughout the year ahead.
