John, before the year officially ends, I wanted to reach out and tell you about two things:
(1) What your grassroots support helped the NDRC accomplish in 2022, and
(2) What work we still have ahead of us in 2023.
This is a longer email, and at the end of it I’m going to ask you to pitch in to help the NDRC hit our end-of-year fundraising goal so we can continue our work in the new year. If you’d like to do that now, you can use this special link:

The NDRC’s Victories in 2022
• Democrats flipped state legislative chambers in Michigan, Minnesota, and Pennsylvania. And, for the first time since 1934, the president’s party didn’t lose a single state legislative chamber!
• Our Democracy Defenders defeated election deniers in governors and secretary of state races in Arizona, Michigan, Nevada, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin, helping to secure the future of free and fair elections in critical swing states.
• As a result of these victories, more Americans will live in states fully controlled by Democrats than fully controlled by Republicans for the first time in years!
The NDRC’s victories this November were made possible by the work our grassroots movement has been doing for years. By continuing our efforts in 2023, we can lay the groundwork for many more Democratic victories in years to come.

What’s Next for the NDRC in 2023
• In states like Alabama, Georgia, Louisiana, and Ohio, voters were forced to participate in elections with maps that had already been ruled unconstitutional gerrymanders. In 2023, the NDRC is preparing for decisions in these cases and the redraws that may follow.
• In states like Michigan and Colorado, our fight for redistricting reforms paid off, and elections took place on some of the fairest maps in years. In 2023, the NDRC will continue fighting for redistricting reforms state by state.
• Across the country, Republicans have been relentless in their assault on voting rights. Now that the GOP has won control of the House, we expect to see continued voter suppression efforts at the national level. The NDRC is fighting back by continuing to fight for every American’s right to vote.
We’re in this fight for the long haul, John, and we hope you are too. Please, if you’re able, pitch in now to help us hit our end-of-year fundraising goal so we can keep up our democracy-saving work.
