As 2022 draws to a close, we wanted to let you know how grateful we are for all you’ve done to support lion care and conservation in our special Year of the Lion. Across the world, in your tens of thousands, you joined our pride and helped raise vital funds and awareness for lions.

As you can see in the video above, you’ve helped us achieve a lot!

Our Year of the Lion ( [link removed] ) was launched in memory of our Co-Founder Bill Travers MBE, who would have been 100 this year.

“My late father, Bill, would have been delighted so many of you have commemorated and celebrated his life by helping wild animals in need,” said our delighted Executive President Will Travers OBE.

Highlights of our Year of the Lion include:

Transforming the lives of five rescued lions - Louga, Angela, Saida, Bellone and Simba - in new forever homes Thousands of new supporters joining our pride after discovering our Born Free Forever exhibit of 25 stunning life-size bronze lions People of all ages taking a 20,000 step Walk on the Wild Side challenge, to honour the world’s 20,000 remaining wild lions Our gallant teams conquering Mount Kenya and running the London Marathon, raising thousands of pounds Hundreds of you joining our pride leader Virginia McKenna OBE at our online event in March and in person at our Mane Event in September
