As the year comes to a close, we hope you'll end the year with a donation to SFTR! As a grassroots organization speaking up for riders, we depend on members like you for support. Your support not only gives us the financial, but also the political power to speak up for riders like yourself here in San Francisco. Supporting SFTR ensures that riders, particularly those living in neighborhoods that have often been excluded from transit planning and investment, will be front and center in the fight to fund Muni, restore service and create a more equitable, sustainable San Francisco. This year, among other successes, we helped secure transit only lanes in the city through several neighborhoods including the Van Ness Rapid Bus or faster, more efficient, and accessible transit. We helped advocate for and secure free Muni for youth, which makes transit a more viable option for families and encourages transit ridership at a young age. And we strongly supported and secured a pause on cash free indexing within SFMTA's budget for this year. Next year, SFTR will continue to engage with riders across the city to ensure riders are front and center when it comes to transit decision-making in a way that builds trust and accountability for SFMTA and other government entities. We are currently conducting a transit needs assessment in Bayview to identify the post-pandemic needs of riders in Southeast San Francisco and how they might translate to improved transit connections in the neighborhood. In addition, our transit planning, funding and regional policy working groups ensure our actions center the needs of riders. |
