I thought I was done sending you emails in 2022, but something major happened yesterday: new reports show that litigants with significant stakes in ongoing Supreme Court cases have used the Supreme Court Historical Society to gain access to the justices.

According to The New York Times, “The donors include corporations like Chevron, which gave while embroiled in a 2021 Supreme Court case involving efforts by cities to hold the oil company accountable for its role in global warming. Veteran Supreme Court litigators gave while representing clients before the court that included Tyson Foods and the Ministry of Commerce of the People’s Republic of China.”

This follows reports of a decades-long campaign by wealthy right-wing activists to sway the conservative justices in some of the biggest cases of the last few years — using events and charities like this to meet and befriend the right-wing justices.

We need to bring integrity back to this institution — and Take Back the Court will be hard at work to rein in this out-of-control Court. With our democracy on the line, we must keep up the fight with everything we’ve got. So, if you haven’t already, please make a contribution to Take Back the Court today.

Thank you for being in this fight,
