Dear Friend,
Eighty percent of Americans support abortion rights.(1) Sixty-one percent think Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas should be investigated for ethics violations.(2) Seventy-five percent support unions for Amazon workers.(3) More than two-thirds want Louis DeJoy out of the post office and for the USPS to be run like a public service again.(4)
The public voice is clear: Clarence Thomas, Jeff Bezos, and Louis DeJoy should not be allowed to act with impunity.
But if we leave our policies up to legislators, special interests with deep pockets will ensure that these men and other abusers of power will continue to shirk the will of the public and take our rights.
That’s why I continue to put my heart and soul into Courage California -- because it is up to organizations like us to stand for our 1 million+ members and fight for a more just and equitable society.
We conduct this work with a small team, with as little overhead as possible, but we just can’t take on these fights without support from you. As it stands now, our budget can’t fund all of this important work. Without your help, I will have to make tough decisions about which campaigns we need to cut -- and I know you care about them all.
Time is running out to fund our 2023 budget -- will you make a year-end donation to Courage California right now?
–Irene, along with Angela, Annie, Isidra, Lindsay, LisaMarie, Mai, Mai, Raquel, and Scottie (the Courage team)
PS: Courage California is fighting for equity and justice across the state and country. Will you become a monthly donor and help sustain our work?
