The greatest allies that injustice has are silence, darkness, and indifference. That’s why so much of the fight for equality depends on lifting up our voices. It’s why we shine the brightest light we can on the hidden structures that harm our communities. It’s why liberation is rooted in action.

Every step we take forward is guided by that spirit—that together we have the power to expose injustice, to name the truth, to fight for the future we deserve. And every step depends on the solidarity and support of people like you. Can we count on your support for the future we deserve by making a contribution to Advancement Project this year? Voter suppression is one of the most dangerous ways that powerful people try to silence the voices of Black and Brown communities. This year, we confronted that threat directly by filing litigation to beat back voter suppression bills in Florida and Georgia. But the law moves slowly, and power never gives up without a fight.

These court cases will continue into the coming year—and the outcomes will determine whether millions of people in Florida and Georgia will have their right to vote respected. Long legal fights put a serious strain on our resources— make a special year-end gift now to continue helping us keep pushing in the courts and beyond. [[link removed]]

We’ve also been working hard to expose the hidden ways that structural racism feeds the school-to-prison pipeline. Our groundbreaking new report, #AssaultAtSpringValley, illustrates how school policing places students, especially Black students, at a significant risk of criminalization and assault.

We know changing our schools to be safer for students of color won’t be easy. There are so many interests who are invested in the criminalization of our youth, from those who profit from the privatization of schools to the prison industrial complex that benefits from policing students of color.

The only way we can make change is through those of us who stand for justice, envisioning and demanding a different future for our children. Your contribution will help power that work. [[link removed]]

Ending cash bail, holding police accountable for violence and misconduct, protecting and restoring voting rights, keeping our Black and Brown kids safe at school—all of this is within our reach. But it won’t happen unless we have the courage to speak out and the conviction to fight for the future we deserve.

I’m so proud to be a part of this movement with you. I hope you will take a moment right now to renew your commitment by making a final end-of-year contribution.

Thank you for sharing your strength and solidarity.

Onward,
