Friend, time is running out to make your matched gift to Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) before our match expires at midnight—so don’t wait.
2023 will be full of challenges, and we can’t afford to fall short.
A malnutrition crisis that’s threatening children’s lives in the Horn of Africa. Survivors of the war in Ukraine who are struggling to process the trauma and upheaval they’ve experienced this year. Refugees in Lebanon living in overcrowded conditions who are now contending with a cholera outbreak.
P.S. If your year-end gift and our email have crossed paths, we apologize and sincerely thank you for your generosity!

Help save lives in 2023
Dear Friend,
2022 has been a year of extremes: severe weather events, a continuing war in Ukraine, and violent conflict contributing to massive displacement.
Many MSF projects operate in extreme situations. As medical needs change, it’s not uncommon for these extreme situations to get even more complicated. But no matter what, MSF teams are committed to providing medical aid where it’s needed most.
Mothers in Somalia are in a state of desperation, not knowing where they will get their next meal and relying solely on humanitarian aid which can be unreliable. Families in Pakistan are rebuilding their homes and communities after historic flooding submerged one third of the country. People in Haiti are falling asleep to the sound of bullets and contending with a rapidly-spreading cholera outbreak.
Our nearly 63,000 Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) staff are meeting each of these crises with urgency, compassion, and care. And they’re counting on our global community to show up for them so they can show up for our patients.
At MSF-USA, we’re incredibly proud that all of our funding comes from independent donors. Central to our philosophy is our steadfast commitment to independence, neutrality, and impartiality. That’s why, when you donate to MSF, you’re making an investment in our global movement to deliver compassionate, high-quality medical and humanitarian care to those who need it most—regardless of a patient’s politics, religion, or nationality.
That’s incredibly powerful, and it’s a responsibility we take extraordinarily seriously. For every dollar you give, 85 cents goes directly to our programs delivering health care and humanitarian aid in some of the world’s most pressing crises.
But we’re facing some real headwinds as we look ahead to 2023, with the costs of delivering humanitarian aid to the world’s most urgent emergencies skyrocketing. It’s absolutely essential that we meet our year-end fundraising goal to ensure we don’t scale back our response to any of these emergencies. Will you help us close the gap, Friend?
From the bottom of my heart, from our staff in more than 70 countries around the world, and from our millions of patients: thank you. We couldn’t do this work without you.
All the best,
Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières USA
P.S. If your year-end gift and our email have crossed paths, we apologize and sincerely thank you for your generosity!
All gifts given, up to $1,000,000, will be doubled through 11:59 p.m. EST on December 31. Every dollar you give will be matched with $1. Gifts received after the match has been met will not be matched but will be used where needed most.
