Friend,
Today is the final day of 2022, and I’m passing along my best wishes to you and yours for a happy and healthy new year in 2023. Here at the Party, we’ve been reflecting on how much we have accomplished since last January. Thanks to Democrats all across the Commonwealth, we were able to not only maintain our super majority but also add more Democratic seats.
After a long battle, President Biden delivered on many promises to us such as tackling inflation & lowering costs, taking on Big Pharma and lowering prescription drugs, rebuilding America's infrastructure, passing the Chips and Science Act, passing the first meaningful gun safety legislation in 30 years, and the legalization of the Respect for Marriage Act.
We can celebrate the many women who shattered the glass ceiling in politics across the country — as we all watched Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson’s confirmation, Representative Katherine Clark ascend to Democratic Whip, and share last moments with Nancy Peolsi after her successful tenure as Speaker of the House.
Here in the Commonwealth, victory rang through each town as news spread about a new Democratic chapter for our Governor’s office with Maura Healey and Kim Driscoll winning their races. Several women leaders followed, as we elected Andrea Campbell for Attorney General, Diana DiZoglio for State Auditor, Deb Goldberg for Treasurer, and many others on the state and local levels. We also gained more seats for Democrats with five legislative flips from red to blue and three county seats from red to blue.
As this year comes to a close, I want to thank you for everything you do to support our work and build a better country and Commonwealth in 2022. I look forward to the challenges of the new year and all that we will achieve together in 2023.
Happy New Year!
