Team,
As 2022 comes to a close, I want to take three minutes of your time to say “thank you” for your continuing support.
Your support and encouragement meant the world to me over the past 12-months. Together, we were able to do good things for Virgin Islanders and others around our country.
Here’s a snapshot of what we achieved:
- Passing the Inflation Reduction Act and lowering the cost of prescription medicine, while making historic investments in the fight against climate change;
- Protecting reproductive rights across the country in the face of cruel attacks by Republicans at the state and federal levels;
- Retaining control of the U.S. Senate, therefore allowing President Biden’s nominees for federal judges to move forward. Senate control also places a check on a Republican-controlled House and its far-right agenda;
- Ensuring safety net programs like Social Security and Medicare increase benefits for our seniors and lower-income citizens;
- Bringing the long-delayed federal disaster aid under the former administration to the Virgin Islands to finally help rebuild our infrastructure and ensure our children have fully stocked schools and education resources.
Finally, you honored and humbled me by re-electing me to another term in Congress. Your support means I can continue to deliver for the Virgin Islands and fight for our proper recognition and equality.
None of this would have been possible without your support, team. Knowing you’re standing with me provides the energy to keep working for progress.
As I work for you in Congress, my mind is always on what more can be done for the Virgin Islands and our community. In 2023, I look forward to working across the aisle and delivering for the American people.
Please have a safe and happy new year!
With gratitude,
Stacey
