This month marks the 10th anniversary of Citizens United, and honestly, it’s not something worth celebrating.

When the Supreme Court decided Citizens United v. FEC nearly a decade ago, it laid the groundwork for dark money to transform elections and our government as we know them.

Since Citizens United, special-interest groups have dumped billions of dollars into our elections. We know what that's like -- special interests spent more than $40 million against me in 2012 alone.

I need 10,000 grassroots supporters to sign our petition and call for an end to Citizens United before the 10th anniversary on January 21st. Will you add your name?

Special-interest groups are playing the long game.

When corporations and billionaires give to campaigns, those campaigns have more resources at their disposal to crush the competition. When those candidates inevitably win, they are compelled to vote in the interests of their special-interest donors instead of their constituents’ interests.

And often, this is what special interests looks like:

- Protecting Big Pharma and insurance companies instead of patients
- Protecting corporations instead of workers
- Keeping gun sales up instead of keeping guns out of schools and places of worship
