I wanted to reach out.
Hi John,
At midnight tonight, we'll close the books on fundraising for the year. According to our finance team, we're still running about 7% behind our $85,000 goal, so I wanted to personally reach out.
This year, our movement led Democrats across the country in exceeding expectations in the midterm elections. We kept control of the Senate, held off a "red wave" in the House, and won crucial governorships in swing states.
Let me be clear, this would not be possible if it were not for progressive policies. Life-saving investments in the people and infrastructure necessary to tackle the deadly climate crisis, canceling student debt, holding those exploiting people for profit accountable, and fighting for reproductive freedom for all led us to this moment. But now, we run the risk of falling into complacency.
I'm committed to this fight, but we're up against dangerous, far-right politicians and media — so I can't do this without your help.
That's why today I'm humbly asking: Will you chip in $5 or anything you can to help us reach our end-of-year fundraising goal before tonight's deadline? Every dollar supports our work to write a new chapter in politics centered in justice, love, and compassion.
Chip in $5
Our work is far from finished. People are still going to bed hungry. Folks in St. Louis are still being evicted in the midst of an ever-changing pandemic. And the climate crisis continues to threaten us all.
What we do *now* will determine our future. We need to pass critical legislation including Medicare for All, the Green New Deal for Cities, and the People's Response Act and continue our work to expel insurrectionists from Congress and protect our democracy.
So please donate as much as you can — if you can — to make sure that we have the resources and momentum to power our grassroots movement and push for bold, much-needed change in Congress. With hours until our midnight deadline, I'm counting on you.
Thank you for all of your support.
Your Congresswoman loves you,
Cori
