[1]Real Justice

John, I am deeply proud of the
work we’re doing here at Real Justice together – but I need your help to
keep it going with a personal contribution.

Before midnight tonight if you can.

[ [link removed] ]If you’re short on time and ready to give right now, please do that
here, OK?

Now let me rewind and explain.

I am a little embarrassed by this, but I don’t think we as a whole reflect
on our accomplishments enough.

I have realized that if we don’t share those accomplishments, they will be
erased.

So let’s do that now. Together.

Real Justice has now elected about 35 District Attorneys and other local
leaders across the country. Most of them would tell you that our support
played a big role in them getting elected.

But our support doesn’t stop once the election is won.

We partner with them.

Do the hard work of holding them accountable.

Defend their work against attacks from every angle.

So they can continue doing their work:

They are exonerating those who’ve been wrongly convicted. They are finding
ways to decriminalize poverty and mental health and substance abuse.
Pushing forward bold policies. Holding police accountable. And so much
more.

There are about 2,400 District Attorneys across the country. They oversee
90% of all incarcerated people. But it’s only less than 150 District
Attorneys that oversee nearly half of all incarcerated people.

We strategically plan our races based on where we can make the most
impact.

We target horrible district attorneys in the largest cities and fight to
replace them with compassionate thought-leaders who understand that the
systems of mass incarceration and policing were designed to cause harm.

That’s why we are SO effective. And the results speak for themselves.

Our District Attorneys have single-handedly reduced the number of
incarcerated people like nothing we’ve ever seen in American history –
sometimes by up to 50% in a single term.

Moving forward, I am going to uplift these success stories. I hope you
don’t mind. For now I need you to ask if you can support this work:

TONIGHT – and we’re still short of our goal. Please pitch in here, OK?
We’re counting on you.
