Dear John, The holidays are a time of reflection and, with respect to the state of reproductive health in Texas (and beyond), it is tempting to feel disheartened. However, we have a lot to celebrate. We have made substantial progress toward our mission - and it is even more critical than ever before. At Healthy Futures of Texas, we aim to provide the resources and information that teens need
to make healthy and empowered decisions for themselves and their futures. There were some standout highlights this year, such as the Youth Advisory Board Town Hall for Teens in Dallas. Hosted by the Youth Advisory Board in partnership with the Youth Commission of Dallas, the event gave over 100 teens and parents the opportunity to speak openly with community leaders about the importance of sex education.
After it became
safer to host in person events, we were delighted to come together to learn, connect, and inspire one another. One of the key strategies we employ at Healthy Futures is collaboration and we drew energy from the excitement and emotion of the powerful work we share with our partners.
Lastly, merging three organizations into one was an enormous accomplishment. Leadership championed an expanded benefits package for all employees, ensuring that Healthy Futures supports and uplifts its staff in a challenging working environment. People are at the heart of this work, and we value their contributions.
We are proud of our achievements and are excited for what the future
holds.
Healthy Futures has nothing but gratitude for our community of supporters, partners, sponsors, and fellow advocates for change. We could not have achieved our goals this year without you. Our team has plans to expand and strengthen our mission within Texas for 2023. Please consider supporting our efforts with an end-of-year financial contribution to help ensure that the youth of Texas can seize every opportunity that lays ahead.
