The pundits expected an election wipeout in 2022 -- and no progress on
climate, student debt, or taxing the rich.

But John, with your help, the American people rose up to
protect our democracy -- and grassroots activism helped Democrats use
power to improve millions of lives.

We have a lot to be proud of this year! Behold, our Top Ten PCCC
Highlights of 2022! None of it would have been possible without bold
progressive PCCC members like you. Thank you!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------
1. The Washington Post reports Progressive Change Campaign Committee
members donated nearly $2 million to Democratic campaigns via 148,000
grassroots donations this cycle!!

John Fetterman says: "THANK YOU, PCCC. Thank you, thank you, thank you,
from the bottom of my heart, for everything you have done to get us to
this point. It really means the world to me, Gisele + our whole campaign
family. ❤️❤️❤️"

Katie Porter says, "When I was first running for Congress in 2018, having
the support of the PCCC was critical. They helped me raise critical money
for my initial campaign to flip this swing district and my tough
re-election campaigns -- including the one we’re in now."
--------------------------------------------------------------------------

2. PCCC members were the top grassroots donors to pro-democracy Secretary
of State candidates. A CLEAN SWEEP in the top 5 battleground states!!!

[ [link removed] ]Turn on images to see this image.

PCCC members chipped in more than $250,000 via 23,000 donations to elect
Democratic Secretaries of State in Arizona, Nevada, Michigan, Minnesota,
and Colorado… and Democrats defeated every single election denier in those
states!

Jena Griswold, Colorado’s Secretary of State and Chair of the Democratic
Association of Secretaries of State, says: "PCCC has been an incredible
partner in this fight for democracy and I'm so thankful for their support
in Secretary of State races this year."

Jocelyn Benson, Michigan’s Secretary of State, says: "Thousands of PCCC
members donated to my campaign. Your financial support made a huge
difference."

3. PCCC members helped EXPAND the Senate majority -- making Joe Manchin
less relevant.

[ [link removed] ]Turn on images to see this.

PCCC members donated nearly $1 million dollars through 49,000 donations to
top Senate candidates! This included six-figure fundraising for John
Fetterman (PA) and Raphael Warnock (GA).

Catherine Cortez-Masto (NV), who won the seat experts gave Republicans the
best chance to flip, told PCCC members "I appreciate everything the PCCC
has done for this campaign and for the hard-earned, grassroots dollars
thousands of PCCC members have invested in this race."

What does a clear 51-seat majority mean? "That hurts Joe Manchin," reports
NBC News!

And guess what? Elizabeth Warren and other Democrats now have subpoena
power to reign in big corporations. Get ready!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------

4. We won key House primaries -- and helped elect a new wave of rising
progressive stars!

[ [link removed] ]Turn on images to see Maxwell Frost.

PCCC members chipped in $314,000 to key House races via 35,900 donations.
These new stars are already rocking Washington:

* Maxwell Frost (FL-10), the first Gen Z member of Congress and
inspiring leader
* Greg Casar (TX-35), a brilliant labor organizer
* Delia Ramirez (IL-03), economic populist and the first Latina member
of Congress from the Midwest
* Becca Balint (VT-AL), economic populist and Vermont’s first openly-gay
member of Congress
* Jasmine Crockett (TX-30), who led a fearless effort to defend abortion
rights in Texas
* Summer Lee (PA-12), who defeated AIPAC’s dishonest ads in both the
primary and general election
* Andrea Salinas (OR-06), an economic populist who defeated a Crypto
millionaire!

PCCC’s Meet The Candidate events allowed hundreds of PCCC members to ask
these candidates questions. [ [link removed] ]Sign up here to attend intimate Zooms with

Maxwell Frost: "The PCCC has been a big help to my campaign.”

Andrea Salinas: "I’m grateful for the PCCC’s help in one of the closest
open districts in the country."

5. We got Jamie Raskin’s back every step of the way. This democracy hero
said thank you!

"Raskin on PCCC member Zoom"

Rep. Raskin says, "The Progressive Change Campaign Committee was with me
in my first race for Congress, and we are partners in fighting to defend
our democracy and freedom today."

Throughout this year, we amplified Raskin’s work on the January 6
Committee exposing Trump’s crimes. Before hearings began, Raskin made news
on our January 2022 Zoom with over 100,000 viewers where he predicted the
Committee hearings would "blow the roof off the House." He was right!

of Congress in 2023! And [ [link removed] ]donate to Jamie’s re-election here!

(Congressman Raskin announced this week that he is beginning treatments
for a serious but curable kind of cancer. [ [link removed] ]Sign our "We love you,
Jamie" card here and optionally add a personal note. We will deliver the
signatures and messages to him.)

6. Your progressive lobbyists fought for student debt cancellation,
climate legislation, help for children, banning insider trading by
Congress, and taking on Big Tech monopolies.

P Street -- the progressive alternative to K Street -- is our lobbying arm
in the halls of power. This year it focused on:

Student debt cancellation: We helped convene the White House and top
student debt advocates to strongly encourage President Biden to go bold on
student debt cancellation -- which he did! And young voters turned out in
droves!

Climate legislation: For two years, we lobbied Congress and the White
House to help keep the president’s economic and climate agenda on track --
beating back corporate Democrats who tried to sabotage the biggest climate
bill in history! It passed! And it's funded by (finally) taxing
billionaire corporations!

Renewing the Child Tax Credit: The expanded Child Tax Credit passed by
Democrats in 2021 lifted half of kids out of poverty. Republicans let it
expire, but we have been lobbying behind the scenes to line up support for
reinstating it soon. We helped block normally routine end-of-year
corporate tax advantages unless this Child Tax Credit passed too. Look for
more on this in 2023!

Banning insider trading in Congress: Emma Lydon -- managing director of P
Street -- led the coalition that brought many diverse members of Congress
together (from Katie Porter to Abigail Spanberger) on this issue. We got
very close, and will come back for more next year.

Taking on Big Tech monopolies: Key legislation to stop Amazon and Google
from using monopoly power to favor their own products in the market place
passed the Senate Judiciary Committee 16-6. For months, we lobbied to get
it across the finish line. We got a down payment in the Omnibus bill that
passed last week, and are coming back for more in 2023.

7. We fought Joe Manchin & corporate Democrats who obstructed the
Democratic agenda.

When the Democratic economic and climate agenda was obstructed by Joe
Manchin, Kyrsten Sinema, and corporate Democrats like Josh Gottheimer in
the House, we took action to keep it alive.

We sent national mobilization emails from swing-district House Democrats
making the case for our agenda -- heroes like Angie Craig (MN-2), Andy Kim
(NJ-3), and Matt Cartwright (PA-8).

We helped them write op-eds, we lobbied congressional offices for months,
and we put together a press conference with swing-district Democrats
making the case for how investing in clean energy is good for American
jobs and workers.

It took time, but we won! Historic climate legislation, lower-price
prescriptions, and taxing billionaire corporations!

After the election, it was accountability time.

PCCC co-founder Adam Green penned an [ [link removed] ]oped for NBC about how Manchin
and other corporate Democrats handed Republicans the House of
Representatives by delaying the Democratic economic agenda for a year and
blocking a voting rights bill. He also made this case on [ [link removed] ]C-SPAN's
Washington Journal.

When Sen. Kyrsten Sinema recently switched from Democrat to Independent,
PCCC co-founder Stephanie Taylor [ [link removed] ]told media that Sinema has "no
constituency in Arizona among Democratic, Republican, or Independent
voters...She should join her friends on Wall Street in 2024, and Democrats
should nominate someone truly on the side of the working class who can
unite and win Arizona."

We are bold progressives!

8. Pop culture! Nearly 2 million views on our David Cross parody video
helping Secretary of State races! Plus, an event with Don’t Look Up’s
writers!

[ [link removed] ]Turn on images to see the video.

We produced a widely-shared parody video starring comedian David Cross
that made voters laugh while learning that insurrectionists were running
for Secretary of State to miscount our votes. We could tell you about it,
but it’s easier to just [ [link removed] ]watch it here!

Read [ [link removed] ]Newsweek’s article with behind the scenes anecdotes entitled,
"Tucker Carlson, GOP Trolled by Comedian David Cross in New PAC Video."

make more political comedy videos, please [ [link removed] ]chip in here to fund this
(fun) work.

Additionally, we were proud to host Oscar-nominated Don't Look Up writers
David Sirota and Adam McKay, and Senator Elizabeth Warren, on a national
Zoom with PCCC members. Over 55,000 people tuned in to think together
about climate change. [ [link removed] ]The LA Times did a full profile of the event,
concluding: "We all need to vote -- and agitate -- as if our lives
depended on it, because they do."

9. The PCCC helped elect 73 Progressive Champions to state and local
offices across the country!

Our top-notch training program prepared more down ballot progressive
candidates and campaign staff this year to run strong grassroots
campaigns. We supplied many with our award winning PIES campaign software,
endorsed many more, and 73 of our Progressive Champions won!

One example is Christina Stephenson, who attended our training and was
elected this year to be Oregon's new Labor Commissioner. Christine will
fight wage theft and discrimination. Wlnsvey Campos attended our training
and just became Oregon's youngest-ever state senator! Nate Roberts, a
construction worker and president of his AFL-CIO local, was just elected
to the Idaho House of Representatives!

We can’t wait to see the bold moves they and others make pushing for
progressive priorities in their communities.

10. After the fall of Roe, we led the campaign calling out the Supreme
Court’s legitimacy crisis.

[ [link removed] ]Turn on images to see this tweet.

Starting in June 2022, the Progressive Change Institute started asking
members of Congress to insert this line into their messaging: "This
Supreme Court is increasingly facing a legitimacy crisis." 200,000 people
signed the PCCC's petition saying this.

[ [link removed] ]As Business Insider reported, our efforts worked. Heavy hitters who
used our messaging included new House Democratic Leader Hakeem Jeffries,
Jamie Raskin, Jerry Nadler, Pramila Jayapal, Katie Porter, AOC, and
Senators Elizabeth Warren, Chris Van Hollen, Alex Padilla, Ed Markey,
Sheldon Whitehouse, and others.

The Progressive Change Institute collaborated with Demand Justice on
polling to prove this idea was popular -- and we teamed up with
UltraViolet, March For Our Lives, EverGreen, and the American Constitution
Society to amplify this "legitimacy crisis" message.
