At midnight, we're closing the books on our End of Year fundraising
deadline. So I wanted to give you a quick progress update on our
fundraising goal:

Before I explain why this deadline and this goal are so important, I need
to ask directly:

Here's the thing, John —
decades of climate denial, status quo, and government inertia have led us
to the situation we find ourselves in now:

Our planet and communities are being ravaged by climate disaster after
climate disaster, and there seems to be no end in sight.

But we cannot lose hope.

Losing hope is exactly what the fossil fuel industry wants us to do, so
they can continue polluting our planet for profit. They want us to stop
fighting for a livable planet. So let's not give them what they want.

The good news is that we can still prevent the worst effects of the
climate crisis by pushing for a swift and just transition towards
renewable energy. And that's exactly what we are going to do starting
tomorrow.

But I'm going to be completely honest with you: what we'll be able to
achieve in 2023 depends heavily on how much money we're able to raise
before midnight tonight to support our climate campaigns.

That's why we set a fundraising goal that meets the scale of the climate
crisis — $950,000 before the end of this year — and we are determined to
meet it:
