As Chicago experiences more heat waves and extreme weather, we need elected officials to support climate solutions that address the root causes of climate change.
That's why we're campaigning for a real Green New Deal that bans fracking and fossil fuel projects, creates millions of jobs by moving to 100% renewable energy, and facilitates a fair and just transition away from polluting fossil fuels.
But Representative Mike Quigley has not supported a ban on fracking and a transition to 100% renewable energy. You can help change that.
What: Canvass for a real Green New Deal
When: Saturday, August 3rd at 11am
Where: Coffee Joint (2059 W. Irving Park Road), off the Brown Line Irving Park stop.
A real Green New Deal -- one that bans fracking and addresses the root causes of climate change -- won't be easy to pass. We need a massive volunteer mobilization to build enough political power to make this goal a reality.
That's why we’re going door-to-door in the 5th district. Taking the time to have face-to-face conversations with individual people is one of the most effective ways to raise awareness of an issue and motivate people to take action.
Don't worry if you've never canvassed door-to-door before! We'll give a training beforehand, pair up, and provide you with all the materials you need to be successful to build support for a real Green New Deal in your district.
Can you join us on August 3rd? RSVP
We will be partnering with Food and Water Watch for this event.
We hope to see you there,
