Hi John,
2022 ends in a few hours, and with it a generous 1:1 match for every dollar given to the Saving Life on Earth Fund. Please give by our midnight deadline to make this match count.
One in 3 species — a third of the planet's biodiversity — could vanish forever by 2100.
To halt the extinction crisis and save at-risk plants and animals in the year ahead, we must be bold.
That means doubling the amount of protected land and water — and declaring a national emergency for the interlinked extinction and climate crises.
We must bring back jaguars to the Southwest and grizzlies to California.
And we need to restore the Endangered Species Act, which remains weakened in the aftermath of Trump.
This will be my final request of the year — please take this moment to contribute to the Saving Life on Earth Fund.
In 2022 we gained protection for 45 species under the Act.
In the past month alone, we helped secure protection for the Dixie Valley toad, the Dolphin and Union caribou and the rare wildflower Tiehm's buckwheat.
This year we won a landmark ruling that restored federal protection to gray wolves outside the northern Rockies.
We also won improved wildlife connectivity for vulnerable mountain lions and other species in California by sponsoring and helping to pass the Safe Roads and Wildlife Protection Act.
All told we secured more than 2 million acres of critical habitat for 28 species, including Canoe Creek mussels, Louisiana pine snakes, eight Florida plants, and Panama City crayfish.
We've shown time and time again that we can win for wildlife. Over the past 30 years, the Center has locked in protections for 742 species and more than half a billion acres of critical habitat.
The Center was founded to save species large and small. We're ready — but we need you with us.
Double your gift now to our Saving Life on Earth Fund. All gifts through midnight tonight will be matched.
For the wild,
