Happy New Year everyone. Hope 2023 is a great year for you and yours.

Since the first Thursday of the month comes so soon after the New Year and holiday festivities, we will skip meeting in January and kick off 2023 on Thursday, February 2, with another fabulous and well-informed speaker. Look for details towards the end of January.

We say goodby to 2022 with a sense of satisfaction for all we have accomplished:

— thanks to all those who staffed the Herndon’s Farmers Market compost table and for six months contributed their time and energy to make this a successful project;

— our members met and spoke with our political leaders to lobby for various environmental legislation;

— we saw the plastic bag fee finally come to fruition in after all our advocacy before the Board of Supervisors last year; and,

— we met every month presenting outstanding speakers who shared their expertise on a variety of environmental issues and actions to take.

Thanks to each of you for your participation.

We look forward to seeing you at our February 2nd meeting.
