It was a hard-fought victory: One hundred years ago to this day, Oregon became the 25th state to ratify the Nineteenth Amendment, giving women the right to vote.
(Of course, Oregonians were ahead of the curve, giving women the right to vote in state elections in 1912.)
This is our history, but it's also the present: even today, equal access to voting is under fierce attack.
If the arc of history bends towards justice, it's because we are the ones bending it.
In 2020, we have a chance to bend the arc of history toward justice once again.
That's why I'm asking for your support on this historic day: because, for all of our progress, our voting rights are at grave risk of sliding backwards under Donald Trump's watch.
Team Trump and his allies plan to win by undermining the heart of our democracy.
Massive voter roll purges. Voter suppression. Voter intimidation. Failing to secure our elections systems. A huge flood of corporate, special-interest money.
It's up to us to hold them accountable and bend the arc.
Chip in $ today and let's ensure that 2020 is a year where we make history again.
