John,
Today, the Arizona Court of Appeals decided to uphold our state’s 15-week abortion ban, placing Arizona women and medical care providers at risk.
As a social worker and as a domestic violence advocate, I’ve seen firsthand what it means when we rip away a woman's decision to make her own reproductive health decisions.
I’ve said it hundreds of times, and I’ll say it again now: the decision to have a child should rest solely between a woman and her doctor, not the government or politicians.
This 15-week abortion ban does the opposite — it puts the government in charge of women’s private health care decisions, with deadly consequences. It cruelly offers no exceptions for victims of rape or incest. And it criminalizes doctors and health care providers simply trying to do their jobs and protect their patients.
If you agree that this ban has no place in our state, I hope you’ll add your name now and join me in the fight to restore reproductive freedom in Arizona:
As governor, I will do everything in my power to ensure that women can exercise their constitutional rights — but I can’t fight alone. Thank you for standing with me on this critical issue.
