Did you see my previous email? We went big in 2022 to build the future we want to see! BUT we are not done yet – there are two days left before the year closes, and we need you to help us reach our fundraising goals so we can go harder and win bigger in the new year! We are asking you to make a gift to Advancement Project before the year closes to help us reach our fundraising goal.
Your donation gives us the power to take on cash bail, remove police from traffic stops, continue to restore the rights of formerly incarcerated people, and fight for police-free schools!
This work is essential for our communities - your donation to the Liberation Fund makes this work possible.
Can we count on you?

We're closing out 2022 with focus, having spent the year strengthening our work for the next phase! From our team of 50 people, our grassroots partners, and supporters like you – we've been on the ground, in courthouses, state houses, and in trainings building toward the future we want to see.
Check out below for a breakdown of our biggest wins and highlights of 2022!
Advancement Project was able to spend 2022 strengthening our work for the next phase. This is only possible because of supporters like you— please donate today to our Liberation Fund to help us and our partners sustain our movement.

Our education work was in expansion mode this year. We...
*Held our first major in-person convening following the pandemic that brought together over 25 organizations and 100 youth organizers from across the U.S for our National Police Free Schools convening.
*Developed our campaign to advocate for a right to education— researching history, creating political education tools, piloting trainings, and connecting with potential partners in the South.
*Began work focused specifically on ending the criminalization and abuse of Black girls in and around public schools.
Meanwhile, our democracy work has been about keeping up the pressure. We...
*Filed litigation to beat back the voter suppression bills on behalf of Black faith communities and Latinx civic engagement organizations in Florida and Georgia. And our court cases are not yet over!
*Polled Gen Z voters of color because we knew they would be critically important to not only the mid-terms, but for our political future. We then developed digital Get out the Vote ads, resulting in close to 12 million views leading up to the mid-term elections.
Our criminal justice work spent the year implementing new efforts to decarcerate and decriminalize our communities. We...
*Created a national narrative and public education campaign, How Cops Get Off, to educate communities on the systems and narratives that protect police departments from being held accountable.
*Trained our first cohort of lawyers this year in DC, based on our movement lawyering model. We've already connected the cohort to our partners at DefundMPD to help increase their capacity, specifically with their No More Stop & Frisk campaign.
*Settled our litigation in East Baton Rouge, challenging the cash bail system and processes of the court. Our settlement ensures more protection for newly detained people in East Baton Rouge.
As we’ve expanded our reach to push and implement our programmatic vision – we also had an organizational restructure!
As we expand our movement building, we are paving the way for new, more inclusive opportunities for Black people and other people of color. A strong network of supporters and partners like you fuels us and this work to create change never seen before.
