A new Israeli fanatical far-right government headed by Benjamin Netanyahu has just been sworn in. For weeks, the Biden administration has been expressing concerns about the openly racist and ultra-nationalist Zionist parties, with whom Netanyahu sought to form a government. These parties do not conceal their rejection of the so-called American parameters for peace and stability in the region, explicitly rejecting any version of Palestinian independence. In addition, some of its leaders are known for either supporting organizations designated as terrorists by the United States, for being convicted of criminal offenses, including corruption, incitement, or supporting terrorism. This disturbing development has not stopped the Biden administration from affirming its commitment to continued unconditional military funding and to “guaranteeing Israel’s qualitative military edge in the Middle East,” exposing the hypocrisy of their concerns about the Israeli government’s extremism. That military funding amounts to more than $3.8 billion every year, which means every American taxpayer is making a substantial contribution to funding Israel’s apartheid regime without our consent. This money is used to oppress, kill and maim Palestinian families all over Palestine. This needs to stop! As American citizens, we must immediately reject misguided status quo policies that allow our government to fund a foreign regime’s war crimes in our name and with our money without our approval. We at American Muslims for Palestine (AMP) are absolutely committed to achieving this change and, with your generous support, we are achieving important milestones of which we can all be proud of along the way. This is why, with the end of this year, I invite you to continue to support AMP and its work. Every dollar counts in our fight to defend the rights of the oppressed Palestinian people. Donate $25 or whatever you can today so we can continue this work. We wish you a happy and joyful new year, and we remain resolute in our determination, next year in a liberated Palestine, God willing. |
