Dear Friends --
In the last five years California YIMBY has been at the forefront of policy research and development aimed at solving our state’s housing shortage and affordability crisis.
With your help we've won big victories, including major legislative wins in Sacramento in 2022. But that's just the beginning. We have an ambitious agenda for 2023.

Donors to the California YIMBY Education Fund provided the support we needed to publish our new report, "Housing Abundance as a Condition for Ending Homelessness: Lessons from Houston, Texas."
The report demonstrates that restricting the supply of new housing has fueled California's homelessness crisis, and that adding more housing is crucial to solving this problem.
Our report was well received by the media and policymakers at the state, local, and federal level. We'll be continuing to brief policymakers on our findings well into the new year.
In 2023 we plan to step up our policy development and research work. That will include developing a new policy framework that will lay out California YIMBY's long-term vision for California. Stay tuned for our new framework and paired research objectives in the New Year!
