There's only one day left in our Year-End Drive, Friend. We're working to protect the thousands of native bee species who are losing their homes and being inundated with toxic pesticides, and we need your help. Our records show we haven't received your gift yet. Will you donate now to help save the bees?
Some bees work together in colonies and live in hives. But most native bees are solitary, fending for themselves.1 The life of a lone native bee is tough, and it's becoming even tougher. Wild bee habitat is shrinking, leaving solo bees with fewer flowers and nesting spots. Bees are losing their homes and going hungry.2 Not to mention the toxic pesticides that blanket so many of the places that bees turn to for shelter and nourishment. So many of our farms, gardens, lawns and potentially even wildlife refuges are covered with pesticides that are known to kill bees. Bees just can't catch a break. Without a hive to lean on, these independent bees need our help even more. We need the entire Environment Colorado hive to come together for every bee struggling to survive. Will you donate to help a lonely bee in need? Right now, native bees are nesting for the winter, hibernating until the spring thaw. And what kind of world awaits them when they wake up? Will they venture out to stretch their wings and find a cornucopia of diverse, enticing flowers? Or will they see a bland field and be forced to forage from crops that -- unbeknownst to the bee -- have been coated with bee-killing pesticides? Lonely bees need our help. It's up to us to restore bee-friendly places and stop the worst uses of pesticides that are killing bees. Thank you, Ellen Montgomery Your donation will be used to support all of our campaigns to protect the environment, from saving the bees and protecting public lands, to standing up for clean water and fighting climate change. None of our work would be possible without supporters like you. Environment Colorado may transfer up to $50 per dues-paying member per year into the Environment Colorado Small Donor Committee. |
