Silicon Valley billionaires are now pushing the idea that their very own "better babies" – improved and transformed with technology – should populate and dominate the world. When asked whether this was "hipster eugenics," one enthusiastically embraced the term.
Meanwhile, the “CRISPR babies” scientist is out of prison, and angling for a comeback. And a small group of influential scientists is planning a “translational pathway” to move CRISPR-baby technology forward – no matter that there is zero medical need for this use of genetic modification.
But you can make a difference in the fight for genetic justice. If we join together and fight back, we can stop this all-too-likely future of high-tech market-based eugenics. Now is the time to prevent a world of genetically ranked and “upgraded” children.
