Dear John,

In case you missed California Policy Center president Will Swaim’s email a couple weeks ago on how you and CPC are building a coalition of sane, freedom-focused elected officials . . .

As the director of CPC’s California Local Elected Officials (CLEO) program, I just had to thank you. Thanks to your support, 2022 was a big year when it comes to protecting our local communities from the excesses of Sacramento and Washington. And growing this vital program in 2023 is a top priority.

You and I both know bold officials who stand against the reigning recklessness coming out of the state capital and fight for financial sustainability, government transparency, and personal liberty.

You also know how the deck is stacked against them. That’s why CLEO was launched—to build relationships among these daring public servants and give them the tools they need to win in their offices.

The problem is these champions of responsibility and sane policies tend to be isolated from one another. They don’t have the resources for policy assessments that can help them push back against fellow officials and city staffers who suffer from the same groupthink that sustains unsustainable policies.

With your help ([link removed]) , CLEO helps the “good guys” be not just right but effective through policy guidance, detailed financial analyses, legal perspectives, and communications support.

I’M IN! LET’S TAKE BACK CALIFORNIA! ([link removed])

Above I said that 2022 was a big year. And it was. You helped CLEO launch our Candidate Academy—an eight-module master class to teach potential local government candidates how to file properly and run for office without relying on special interests.

Because of your support ([link removed]) , ([link removed]) some 400 users have accessed the academy and are learning how to run for and win elected office.

And thanks to you, when they win, they’ll have CLEO ready to stand with them, supporting them with continued training, policy support, and networking with other public servants who reject the failing status quo in California.

I love CLEO because it’s local, it’s personal, and it’s effective.

And with your support of CPC and CLEO, you’re helping to Take Back California.

Your Year-End, tax-deductible gift of $50, $150, or $250 right now ([link removed]) will help power CLEO in 2023—giving aligned local officials the support, information, and networking that helps them protect our freedom at the local level!

For this, I have to thank you! CLEO is just getting started. And 2023 is going to be an even bigger year for local officials than 2022!

I’M IN! LET’S TAKE BACK CALIFORNIA! ([link removed])

Sincerely,

Mari Barke
Director of CLEO, CPC

P.S. John, we’re almost out of time here in 2022 . . . your Year-End gift right now ([link removed]) will support local officials push back against the policies that are sending families and businesses running to other states for relief. Thank you!
