I want to share with you MCN's most memorable moments of 2022. This year was especially memorable because we got to celebrate our 20th anniversary; launch our capital campaign; and spearhead an advocacy campaign centered around ending hate crimes through education. Let's take a look at what we achieved:

JANUARY: MCN responded to The Bronx fire crisis and collected and distributed $200,000+ to the residents of the Twin Parks fire.
FEBRUARY: We continued to collect surveys on how Muslims experience hate in our city. We worked along our partners at the Sikh Coalition, Arab American Association of NY and others to provide resources for New Yorkers on how to report on hate.
MARCH: Our Muslim Women's Civic Empowerment Program and our MYNYC Fellowship program took on full force, as students presented at their schools and our women were learning all things civics.

APRIL: We continued our diversity education series online and engaged with thought leaders in our community like Sabeeha Rehman and Dr. Sylviane Diouf to learn about Islam and how its diverse perspectives. Check out our videos here ([link removed]) :

** MAY: MCN's community service continued by providing over 3,000 meals between 2021-2022 and engaging almost one hundred volunteers. Living out our faith in action.

JUNE: MCN is in the business of building community and strengthening our community. Hence, our Muslim Stakeholders Roundtable convenings are key to strengthening the Muslim non-profit infrastructure.
** JULY: As we're celebrating the EID holidays, we made sure our little ones got the presents they deserved! We packed over 200 gifts!
AUGUST: August was about advocacy for us, and we were proud to launch our hate crime report and advocate for NYC Resolution 1257 which we co-authored.

SEPTEMBER: As we memorialized 9/11 which was a day that changed the lives of Muslims and New Yorkers forever, MCN brought our interfaith partners together in our annual Peace Walk!
OCTOBER: October was a month of creating opportunities for our community members to access resources. Starting with our financial literacy workshops.
NOVEMBER: Our big 20th-anniversary gala took place, bringing together 200 of our esteemed partners, friends, and allies. We launched our much-anticipated capital campaign to purchase MCN's first home:
DECEMBER: We ended the year with a big move to a new office due to our old office building closing down, and also hosting an international delegation on how civil society is organized in New York. Also, our giving never ends as, we collected and distributed almost 1,000 hygiene kits to newly arrived asylum seekers, and our monthly soup kitchen provided 200 meals on Christmas eve.
This holiday season, invest in building an inclusive and responsive Muslim community institution --- Invest in the Muslim Community Network this holiday season. The amount doesn't matter, it can be $10, $25, $50, or $100, what matters is your commitment to our cause.
