Our planet needs our help.

Yesterday it was 68°F in New York City. I’m usually happy about a warm, sunny day in the city. But not in January. When it’s 68°F in January, all I hear are alarm bells. And sure, warm winter days can happen, but the past decade has seen a dramatic rise in global temperatures. Look no further than the terrifying Australian fires to see the devastating effects of the climate emergency.

Inadequate environmental policies and dependence on fossil fuels have created a catastrophe. In NY-12, we bear the direct effects of rising sea levels along the East River, which disproportionately affects marginalized communities.

I understand that part of improving people’s lives means taking drastic action to secure the future of our planet. Can you chip in to help us deal with this unresolved crisis in Congress? ([link removed])

Because of this urgency, I support the Green New Deal. I am committed to do everything in my power to support a national Single-Use Plastics Ban by 2030, end subsidies to factory farming (one of the main contributors to greenhouse gases), and promote regenerative agriculture practices.

In combination with the Green New Deal, I also proudly support nationalizing and upgrading all public transit and incentivizing the use of green methods of transportation, while ensuring that these modes of transportation are accessible for all who need them.

Our people are at risk. Our planet is in danger. We must act now.
