Dear friends,
I am the executive director of Zanmi Lasante, as PIH is known in Haiti. Even as my team of 6,697 committed staff, 99% of whom are Haitian, leads cholera vaccination and treatment efforts in central Haiti, we continue to respond to the chronic emergencies of poverty and illness.
This year, those emergencies were compounded by political instability, kidnappings, widespread violence, intense supply shortages, and most recently, a deadly and uncontained cholera outbreak. Through it all, the team I’m honored to lead did what we do best: provide expert care, free of charge, to those who need it most.
I’ll be blunt: To do that, we need funding.
Your partnership helps us provide lifesaving health care, from treatment for cholera, HIV, and TB to facility-based childbirth and malnutrition care.
