We've done really well getting on the ballot, getting our campaign in the newspaper a few times and getting the attention of local Our Revolution groups and the California Progressive Alliance. We've even gotten the attention of some national figures, like two co-chairs of Bernie Sanders campaign. But those things aren't going to win an election. If we want to win this, we need to use every method we have at our disposal to tell people about our campaign. We need people to pitch in to purchase yard signs. The more we can raise for this, the lower the cost per sign that we'll have to pay. If everyone that is following us on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and these emails donates $27 today, we will be able to purchase an abundance of signs. Would you like to host a sign for our campaign? I know a lot of people can't afford to pitch in, so if you can afford a little extra, pitch in for someone who can't afford a sign. Priority will be given to those who have donated. Thank you in advance. We also need people to write letters to the editor about our people first campaign and people to host house parties. Let me know if you want to host a party.

On Wednesday, January 8, I spoke to the Climate Action Committee in Napa County about the weak protections of the watershed from deforestation. The Committee is made up of County Supervisors and City Council Members from every city in the county, and exists to determine what government can do to fight climate change. Ending deforestation is crucial to this effort.
Please remember: if you are registered No Party Preference and want to vote for Bernie Sanders in the primary, you MUST request a Democrat ballot from the Registrar of Voters ahead of time. NPP ballot will NOT have presidential candidates. This area will be blank. Please ask for your Democrat ballot now.
Also on the 8th, I made a reappearance on the podcast Napa Valley Insurrection, in which I confess a deep secret: I've never been to a wine cave in my life.

I attended a "No war on Iran" protest in Sonoma on the 9th. I was humbled by how many of the people there had heard of our efforts through word of mouth, social media and letters to the editor of the Sonoma newspaper. The Trump administration is trying to lie us into war the same way we were lied into wars in Libya, Iraq, El Salvador, Vietnam and more. We must not allow that to happen.
I do know that this ad is difficult to read, but I have been connecting with progressive candidates all over the country, and many of us have decided to start co-endorsing each other. In this way, we can show people that when we say that other progressives are rising up and running for office, this is not wishful thinking. Our campaign has been endorsed by 41 progressive candidates so far. I am in a group called the Rose Caucus, named after the Democratic Socialists of America symbol. The co-endorsements for that group drop this coming Friday, so the list will expand even more. And I promise a more readable advertisement.

I was given a couple of minutes at the California Progressive Alliance to speak about our campaign. I spoke about Iran, because there is no greater symbol of the absolute idiocy and hypocrisy of our federal government.
I have to hand it to American taxpayers. You are amazingly generous! In the last couple of years, we have found out that the Pentagon is missing $21 trillion, that we give billions of dollars in aid to countries that have universal healthcare and tuition free college education (even though we go without those things ourselves), that the federal government paid salaries to Juan Guaido and his posse for their coup attempt (even kicking in a little extra for "democracy enhancement" training), the Afghanistan Papers showed us that the US was paying for schools that didn't exist, teachers that didn't exist, soldiers that didn't exist, and now we find out that Juan Guaido and his staff embezzled the humanitarian aid funds that we sent. All of this while American families struggle to make it each month, millions of us going without healthcare and many of us going without homes.

And are we out in the streets complaining that our government is literally throwing away money instead of providing food to hungry children? No! We aren't a country of complainers like France, which has been having Yellow Vest protests for 15 months. We suck it up. We self-sacrifice. And then we go back to our iPads or playoff football or whatever Kylie Jenner is wearing this week. Because that's what we do. Why should we have healthcare when there are non-existent children in Afghanistan who desperately need non-existent schools? I mean SOMEBODY's got to pay those non-existent teacher's salaries, and it's not like the Afghan government can afford it. Not after what we've done to their country.
Wednesday the 15th, at 7:00 PM, the Napa County Progressive Alliance is hosting a candidate forum for the Napa candidates for Supervisor, with a social justice theme at the Napa library. It should last until 8:30 PM. It should be an enlightening evening.
