As we approach the end of the year, I wanted to take a moment to write to you about my friend Cori Bush.
I am so proud of Cori's leadership throughout her first term in Congress. The honest truth is that she's accomplished more in just two years than some members do in decades.
Cori introduced over 20 pieces of legislation — from a resolution to investigate and expel insurrectionist members of Congress, to bills to address the climate crisis, transform our system of public safety, and protect workers. And together, Cori and I worked to push forward the fight to pass Medicare for All and a Green New Deal.
No matter who or what stood in her way, Cori stayed committed to her constituents and working people all across the country.

The harsh reality we face is that there is still a great deal of work ahead of us. Working families are falling further and further behind while corporate profits skyrocket. Our Black and Brown neighbors are still being killed by police violence. And too many people are losing their lives and their livelihoods from the existential threat of climate change.
Especially now, as we prepare for a GOP-controlled House of Representatives, I hope Cori can count on your support. Come January, Republicans will control everything from committee assignments to which bills receive a vote on the House floor, so Cori needs the resources to prepare for the attacks to come.
