Hi John,
Even as poisonous rhetoric and harmful policies take hold around the world, young people remain committed to justice and liberation - as their heavy participation in the midterm elections demonstrates. But they can’t do it alone.
Donate $50, $100, or $250 to Advocates for Youth to support the work of youth activists.
As we approach the end of 2022, I’m flipping through Advocates for Youth’s 2022 Annual Report, reflecting on what a challenging year it has been for Advocates’ young people and staff - and thinking about the resilience, determination, and resources it will take to keep this fight going in 2023.
Our Annual Report highlights the work of young people who found ways to support abortion access for everyone who needs it, and fought back against abortion bans that proliferated after the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade. The report tells the story of AMAZE.org, which provides sex education resources to young people, educators, and parents around the world even as far right extremists organize to put an end to sex education. It showcases young people and staff working to end HIV stigma, to make birth control available over the counter, to ensure LGBTQ youth are safe and included in schools and communities, and much more.
This work has never been easy. And increasingly poisonous rhetoric and dangerous policies make it even more demanding - and more urgent. But young people aren’t giving up the fight — and I’m committed to fighting alongside young people for as long as it takes. I hope you will join our work for a better 2023 and beyond.
Happy New Year,
Debra Hauser
