Here’s an understatement, John: our progressive prosecutors have gotten a lot of attention this year.
Wherever Real Justice DAs ran, establishment politicians, police unions, and their wealthy and well-connected backers panicked. They ran candidates against us. They started up PACs and Super PACs. And when they lost, they started recall campaigns.
Getting a lot of attention is good. It means we’re reaching new people with our powerful message of a justice system that works for everybody.
But being the focus on that kind of attention is also expensive. Media costs go up in crowded elections. We have to hire organizers, communication experts, and other staff to make sure we’re getting our message across.
It happened in Philadelphia with Larry Krasner — yet we stuck together, fought hard, and WON.
But with the amount of attacks coming our way, sometimes they win — like in San Francisco when conservative mega donors campaigned and spent $6 million to recall Chesa Boudin.
And now it’s happening everywhere.
Our candidates get this kind of attention because they are genuine champions of a vision for another kind of justice system. They are an actual threat to business as usual — and business as usual is big business.
With your help, their vision will thrive, and we will win.
Thank you,
Real Justice PAC
