At Waterkeeper Alliance, I serve as the Organizing Director, a role that gives me the opportunity to help ensure the needs of Waterkeeper groups are met, uniting them as a powerful global force and organizing their collective action. I joined the Waterkeeper movement in 2010, when I became the Spokane Riverkeeper in Spokane, Washington. Over the last 12 years, I have firsthand seen the Waterkeeper movement expand and extend its impact globally. Since 2010, we have:
* Greatly increased the amount of Waterkeeper groups around the globe. We had nearly 200 Waterkeepers then, and today, there are 300+ Waterkeeper groups in 47 countries who patrol and protect 2.7 million square miles of watersheds on 6 continents.
* Evolved from a small $3M nonprofit to a $15M global movement.
* Became a top-ranked 501(c)(3) charity, with Top-Rated status from Charity Watch, 4 Stars from Charity Navigator, Platinum Status from Candid (formerly Guidestar), and Better Business Bureau Giving Alliance accreditation.
