Dear Friend,

As we close out another tough but successful year, I wanted to thank you for all you do for LGBTQ and HIV-positive immigrants. Because of you, we directly represented hundreds of LGBTQ people fighting for the right to stay safe. With your support, we also rallied our community to push lawmakers and administrative officials to reform a very broken system.

Friend, will you support LGBTQ asylum seekers and immigrants by making a gift?

Among many other remarkable successes this year, you helped Immigration Equality:

  • Refer more than 60 Afghan refugees for resettlement in Canada.
  • Meet with key government officials to obtain progressive policy reforms, including: securing an X gender marker on US passports, and obtaining spousal recognition for LGBTQ refugees denied access to marriage in other countries.
  • Serve more than 850 LGBTQ asylum seekers, maintaining a 99% success rate.
  • Fight against the use of Title 42 expulsions, a pandemic-related health law wrongly used to deny asylum to LGBTQ people, and fight for a permanent solution for DREAMERs.
  • Spend over 3,000 hours serving and liberating detained refugees.
As I look back at what we achieved together, I am struck by how many lives we impacted. We protected and empowered so many people! If you donated to Immigration Equality earlier this year, if you fought with us by calling your member of Congress or signing one of our petitions, if you partnered with us as pro bono counsel, and especially if you represented our community as a client spokesperson… thank you. Thank you so much!

Friend, help us reach our fundraising goal and consider making your annual donation before December 31st.

The New Year will present our community with significant challenges, and abundant opportunities. I know that with you in our corner, Immigration Equality will always be here to fight alongside LGBTQ and HIV-positive immigrants every step of the way.
