Since September, 15.6 million acres of Australia have burned in one of the country’s worst fire seasons.
The fires have now killed at least 25 people, destroyed almost 2,000 homes, and an estimated 1 billion animals have been lost.
This is a global emergency we cannot ignore. Australia’s fires are spreading more quickly because of drought and record high temperatures. Both of which are made worse by climate change.
While this may be happening thousands of miles away in Australia, right here in the United States we have a Congress that is letting us down.
Their failure to act is a price we will all have to pay in the years and generations ahead.
