Procter & Gamble’s suppliers have razed millions of acres of land -- just to have it go down the drain. And at the same time, animals’ homes, local communities’ ancestral lands, and a critical tool to combat climate change are going down the drain.
Forests like Canada’s boreal forest -- otherwise known as the “Amazon of the North” -- and the rainforests of Indonesia are important carbon sinks that store 36 years’ worth of fossil fuel emissions.
Instead of appreciating these forests for the protection they provide, P&G’s suppliers are cutting them down and making a major contribution to the 18% of greenhouse gas emissions caused by global deforestation.
On top of this, they are accused of violent land grabbing abetted by Indonesian security forces and implicated in illegal deforestation and soil, air, and water pollution, causing serious harm to communities’ livelihoods.
While Procter & Gamble has promised to address these gross abuses, it is not moving quickly enough. We need to increase the pressure and show that we need action now -- before it’s too late and our ancient forests are gone.

Solutions exist. P&G should immediately cut ties with all palm oil suppliers responsible for environmental and human rights violations, and take responsibility for repairing the harm they’ve done. But P&G won’t do it on its own -- that’s why we need you!
