Hello, Friend!
I hope this email finds you well! To quickly introduce myself, my name's Alex W., and I'm a member of DSA-LA's communications team and a proud DSA member since 2017! I wanted to reach out on behalf of the chapter to update you on our end-of-year fundraiser!
DSA-LA has had an incredibly successful year - we elected socialists across Los Angeles, spread the word about the need for Childcare for All, defended workers in their unionization efforts and on the picket line, and saw major victories in our Green New Deal for LA Public Schools campaign. But there's so much more than needs to be done!
That's why this fall we launched a fundraising campaign to help get a permanent organizing and office space for DSA-LA! (A DSA-LA HQ, if you will). Thank you to everybody who has has already contributed! We're excited to announce that we're over 70% on our way towards our goal! But we still have a ways to go to hit our fundraising deadline of midnight on 12/31, so we're going to need your help to make it happen!
Why is this fundraiser so important? Finding places for us to work and meet is one of our chapter’s biggest challenges. Our members regularly spend hours finding temporary rental locations that suit our needs, and it has been one of our largest monthly expenses. Imagine what we could do with a space of our own!
If just 10% of us commit $15/month, we can take a huge next step towards building socialism in Los Angeles and find a space where we could routinely offer meetings, events, resources, and more! Please give at whatever financial level you're comfortable with.
